I just ordered it through Amazon based on these reviews. I relate to the person who had need of the manual but had no way to access it because his/her Mac had crashed. I cannot tell you how many times this has happened to me before getting around to downloading the PDF.
So, I commend Amazon for providing a new site that one can download the manual (I assume at anytime and not just for Amazon purchasers, a real PR coup for Amazon guaranteed to reel in new and old customers). So this is a 5 star cheer for Amazon but mainly to let others know of this service.
Amazon is for me the only essential site I use. I’ve now heard that non-perishable groceries can be shopped on-line. Amazon has become the 21st version of the country store. And, just to “keep it real” I have no stock nor any other affiliation with the company (although I wish I did: it’s one of those companies that inspire commitment).

Faulty, misleading expencive up supported trash. Charges for updates, doesen’t work or do anything only mess up your mard drive, disk utility has the same features but it actually works. If you defrag your mac drive using this kiss it goodbye. Now they have drive ididot 2 out don’t be a sucker save your money and stay away from this lousey excuse of a program.

I didn’t buy the package for all the fancy stuff the ads said that was on there. I bought it for one reaseon – to do backup bootable. You cannot back the disk while you on it. You have to go to a another disk or a disc. That defeat the whole purpose for my purchase. But I found out the orther features were useable. I gave it a 4 star because it work as advertised (except the boot backup).

Drive Genius 1.5.3 works for me just fine on my MacBook running Mac OS X 10.4.11.
Can’t really add much to it than that. It does not seem to fix permission issues. I had to do an archive and install as well to get rid of permissions that would repair themselves and then get reversed.
I run it from the backup drive or from the disk.

This is a full featured Utility Program. Does all of the maintenance on Mac OSX (10.3.9 or higher) that isn’t included with OSX. It monitors your harddrive health, repairs permissions, tests system speed and operability, and will Defragment your harddrive (first time will take hours). My Mac is running like a new computer and after using Prosoft Drive Genius (Mac) I highly recommend it for the health of OSX and your computer. I wish I hadn’t spent the money on Disk Warrior (only repairs permissions) and purchased Drive Genius first.
