I loved this game. Unless I have a different version, then I can tell you that this game does work on windows.
I love this game, running around stealing cars, hijacking vehicles, doing jobs for crime bosesses and what not. Running people over, skdding in there blood, shooting up cops, stealing there cars.. this game is absolute great fun!!
I only played the second version (london) and havent played the new updated versions, so thats why this is the original and best to me.

You gotta buy this item because it is really fun(I played it at my freinds house.) You get really cool weapons such as flamethrower, pistl and many more. This game has 6 levels and you get to choose out whitch charachter you want to be. If you do like a game with action packed fun in and out of your new stolen car then this should be an automatic buy!

Grand Theft Auto(GTA), has been one of the most popular PC games of the last four years(I’m writing this in 2002). After initial sales slumps, sales skyrocketed once people who bought the product began talking to other people. The game centres around the main character, you, who is a young criminal trying to make his way up in the world of crime in a large US city. This is achieved by stealing cars, obtaining weapons, then doing criminal ‘jobs’ as such for money/points. Once all the jobs are complete, you advance to the next level, and eventually, to another city. Or, you can simply drive around the city, stealing cars, evading polcie patrols, and targeting civilians. Technically speaking, I had some problems with the game on my PC, a failed installation resulted in my not being able to install the game at all, but I could still play it off the cd. The graphics are fairly smooth, frame limitations can be turned on or off, and the soundtrack, although slightly repetitive, is good and will appeal particularly to teenagers. The games themes are ther biggest drawback, you are a criminal, and criminals do bad things. For example, the game encourages you to kill civilians and police officers by giving bonus points for them. Indeed, running over a pack of joggers incurs a huge bonus, as does blowing up a police vehicle. The music in the game is typical FM heavy rock/pop music with predictable lyrics such as drugs, sex and crime. I’m of the opinion this game should be MA, 15+ years only, the themes are terrible, little kids should not play this under any circumstances. But for more mature gamers, this is a lot of fun, but one should never forget the themes of this game are fundamentally wrong. Overall, a good game for experienced gamers, not suitable for kids, parents should think seriously before getting this game for their kids.

Grand Theft Auto has to be one of the best games of all time. You have alot of missions to do, but the cool thing is you don’t even have to do the missions. You can just take any car you want an go for a joy ride. You can rule the sidewalks and runover anybody you want. You can run from the cops all you want too. In this game you can do just about anything. I never get tired of this game cause there is always somethin new to do in it. I hope you have as much fun playing it as I do.
